Are avocados safe to inject directly into my veins?
This is an honest question I ask myself. I devour my favorite homemade avocado dip like a BOSS. It’s nutritious, packed with nutrients and powered by one of the most nutritional vegetables on the planet.
The quicks list:
Avocados are incredibly nutritious.
They contain more potassium than bananas
They are loaded with heart-healthy monosaturated fatty acids
Avocados are loaded with fiber
Avocados can lower cholesterol and triglyceride levels
People who eat avocados are much healthier than those who don’t
- They analyzed data from 17,567 participants in the NHANES survey in the U.S.
- Avocado consumers were found to be much healthier than people who didn’t eat avocados.
The fat in avocados helps you absorb the nutrients from plants.
- Some nutrients are “fat soluble,” meaning that they need to be combined with fat in order to be utilized.
- This includes vitamins A, D, E, and K… along with antioxidants like carotenoids.
- One study showed that adding avocado or avocado oil to either salad or salsa can increase antioxidant absorption by 2.6 to 15-fold.
Honestly, is there anything better?
The answer is YES! I’m sending out MY personal RECIPE into cyberspace with one missing key ingredient.
See if you can identify
My tweak on the classic recipe adds a few more veggies and expands the nutrient base. I feel better about having this be a mid-day snack or side dish to a grass-fed burger, can of smoked muscles, or canned yellowtail from Whole Foods grocery with the added ingredients.
Ingredient List: Serves one medium size human.
- 1.5 Organic Avocados
- 3 large Romain Heart leaves
- 1/2 cup of organic spinach
- 2 limes (juiced)
- Sea salt to taste
- Olive oil 2 tablespoons.
Add everything to a food processor or (Vitamix on low) and whip to perfection
The result is a creamier, whipped avocado dip. It’s amazingly satiating and adds an additional 2 servings of greens.
Hold the phone…did you guess what ingredient I left out?
Fun fact and Pro Tip: Did you know cilantro is a powerful chelator?
Breaking it down: There are many heavy metals that people are exposed to regularly without realizing it. Mercury, cadmium, and aluminum, among others, are able to embed themselves into our central nervous systems and bones, bio-accumulating for years until we start to suffer acute health problems from heavy metal poisoning.
People who have eaten large salads daily full of cilantro have experienced this effect – moodiness, terrible acne, joint pain and more. While they were mobilizing heavy metals, they weren’t all excreted from the body fast enough, which meant they were detoxing and toxifying themselves the same time!
According to the Natural society
“Cilantro is best used in conjunction with chlorella because it, “mobilizes more toxins then it can carry out of the body, it may flood the connective tissue (where the nerves reside) with metals, that were previously stored in safer hiding places.” This can cause retoxification if another binding agent isn’t used to help rid the body of the heavy metals that are ‘found’ in their hiding places throughout the body.”
This is my powerful reason for avoiding cilantro in my day to day food. As a cancer survivor and completer of many rounds of chemo, I have extra special toxins I still work daily to remove from my body. The research and data compelled me to make a change. As the best advocate for your own health, I implore you to do some digging and find out which foods may not be serving your best self and make appropriate changes.

I’m closing out with this thought. The world is crying with earthquakes, shootings, wildfires and political turmoil. THIS world needs YOU at YOUR BEST. Critical thinking and record cerebral response times will be achieved from consumption of broccoli, cauliflower, kale, swiss chard, carrots and wild salmon…..not Domino’s and TacoBell.”
