I Loved it, every second. There is nothing I would trade, not one ounce. The joy, the love, the success, and especially the pain…it’s all mine. I was saying to a friend yesterday, “At this point in life (talks we have in fancy grocery stores in Manhattan) I realize the mountain top, the end of the race, the pinnacle of success…holds less and less appeal. “There is no perfect health, no perfect body, no perfect show, and no perfect partner. Nothing, no “thing” is going to enter into your life and deliver salvation, answers or peace. These things come from inside. “You can pour your heart and soul into the business, but it will never love you back.”-
I Quote Christmas Carol:
Scrooge to Marley: “But you were always such a good man of business.”
Marley: “Mankind was my business. The common welfare was my business; charity, mercy, forbearance, and benevolence, were all my business. The dealings of my trade were but a drop of water in the comprehensive ocean of my business!”
Love your friends, your family, your neighbor, your craft, your coworkers and cast mates, your light, and your dark. In 2016, strive to be the best possible version of yourself imaginable. Strive to be your best. The growth is in the journey, the challenge, and the thrill of the hunt… that’s exciting shit!
Bring your dreams into reality:
Take a minute and let the thing you are longing for so badly enter into your minds eye. Envision what it would be like to step into that experience; the smell, the sounds, the sensations. Go ahead and let the dream fill your mind. Now express gratitude for receiving your special life situation. Now let it go. Practice this upon waking or in the middle of the day. Choose this practice as opposed to checking Facebook out of sheer boredom! Chances are, you will start to make choices and ignite actions to bring such events into reality.
What’s my status update…”I’m dreaming of the best possible, level 10 life I and deserve!”
I enjoy things that don’t come easy. Nothing over the last 15 years has. I have come to discover in myself the joy of problem solving. I have been in New York since 2001. Incredible. Earlier this year I was having some serious doubts if I could continue in theater (thoughts that creep upon the mind when you can’t eat solid food.) I can say my soul was tired (maybe I was just hungry.) The truth is, nothing sounded good. Everything felt like work because I had basic needs that were not being met. I saw the road ahead and I knew to continue forward in life, I needed some outside help. I found it in a great surgeon. A few days ago I ate dinosaur BBQ and I think that’s all I need to say about that. My point is, take a good self-rationalization and see if your basic needs are being met. Put on your own oxygen mask before you help the passenger next to you. Now put yourself out there and help the world….she needs you!
Tips for the New Year:
It’s “Hell Yes!” or it’s a strong No!
“That sounds good”
“I could make that work”
These are forms of weak language. Take a moment before you respond to someone and make sure it’s what you really want. You’ll find yourself in fewer and fewer situations you have regrettably backed yourself into. In addition, remember those dreams we were going to visualize? Chances are you will start to align the choices you make for yourself with the dream life you want.
Don’t Judge Anyone:
You have no idea what someone else is going through. Every stranger on the street is the protagonist in his or her own fabulous ever unfolding journey. Treat them as such.
Art is beautiful:
Song, dance, music, sculpture, paintings and all forms of art heal the world. Look around and observe the things you read in the news. What’s broadcast on television, the intra-web? There is a severe lack of art in the world, in our lives. Look at the audience from countries all over the planet, world leaders, and patrons at the Kennedy center honors last night in D.C. Watch Aretha Franklin’s Performance and tell me to my face art does not heal, that music can not move mountains. Cause I saw it move some F*&%ing shit and tumble some borders last night. ::Drops Mic::
